Sure, I’ve considered it. I’ve read studies, asked questions, and tried to find out how these ideas can work. I’ve tried, but I’ve never had anyone give me answers or address the ideas in a way that deals with the contradictions and sexist or overly simplistic bits.

I haven’t succeeded in demonstrating the harm caused by these ideas because that wasn’t my goal. Do I think they cause harm? Absolutely; anything that is a lie, and which requires people to lie to and bout themselves, causes harm. I’ve also listened to dozens of people for whom this ideology has caused very real physical, emotional, and mental harm. Their stories are heartbreaking.

But that wasn’t the point of these articles. I am presenting the ideas, because its our ideas and beliefs which define how we see ourselves. And exposing bad ideas is important.

Even more important is DIALOGUE. If anyone has counter-arguments or explanations which can provide clarity, let them share. “This is offensive” and “You’re mean” and “You’re stubborn” are not counter arguments. They do not address the flaws in the belief system — they are simply the reactions of religious zealots who wish to brand me a heretic. I get it. Trans people are important to you. That’s great.

But Truth is more important than all of us.
